Hi, I’m Dr. Saide Amador, and I’m the Junior High Principal. I have a doctorate in pedagogical innovation, with degrees in education and law, and a masters in pedagogy. I have a number of different SEP diplomas, and I have 14 years of experience in the educational field as a teacher and administrator (social service and internship coordinator, degree coordinator, basic education director), in Preschool, Elementary, Junior High, High School, degree programs and post-grad programs. The foundation of my life is my family, my children, commitment, discipline and innovation. I love to read, exercise, travel and continually study.
Hi, I’m Sandy Samperio, and I’m the Junior High Coordinator. I have 25 years’ experience in teaching and in positions of leadership in education. I’ve been a Cambridge Certifications specialist for 20 years, I’ve studied abroad and given seminars in English-teaching conferences. Some of my hobbies are script-writing for standard and nativity plays in theaters. I love good movies, music, and enjoying time spent with my husband, family, friends, and my dog Taisce. I love to travel and live life to the max.
Hello, my name is Adriana Rocha, I’m the Junior High secretary. I have been working as an administrator in different levels of ASP for 14 years, 10 of which have been in junior high. I have a degree as a computer technician and I recently finished a further degree in Administration and Computer Systems. In my free time I love to be with my family, watching movies and series.
Hello, my name’s Zenon Richardson and I’m an English teacher in junior high. I am from Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. In 2016, I completed a bachelor’s degree in English at The University of New Mexico, where I focused in professional writing and minored in Chinese language. In May 2017, I completed the TEFL and SEP certification at the International Teacher Training Organization (ITTO) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where I taught at the language school IMAC.
I am passionate about learning and teaching English. In my spare time, I enjoy writing, reading all types of literature, exercising, and pursuing my hobbies. My greatest hobby is juggling. For 11 years, I have learned and taught juggling, and participated in local and international juggling communities. This year, I will offer juggling lessons to students as an after-school extra-curricular activity.
Hello, I’m María Eugenia Rodríguez, and I’m a Spanish teacher in junior high. My time in the American School has been very important in my professional life: three decades have passed since I started working here. I consider that the communication and dialogue are the basis for success in any activity. To start a new course implies a challenge that we will accomplish with the best result in coordination with parents, students and teacher.
Hello, my name is Liz Castañeda Islas, and I’m a Junior High Spanish teacher. I have a degree in educational science from the UAEH, and I’m currently studying a masters in psychopedagogy. I have been a teacher for 9 years, It’s a pleasure to be working for a fourth year at ASP. Spanish helps students to employ the correct language to communicate and use it as an instrument for learning, making decisions, interpreting and producing texts, and responding to the demands of social life. We should never forget the linguistic richness of Mexican culture and history and always remember we are a part of a diverse and dynamic community.
Hi, my name is Vincent Williams, and I’m a Science teacher in Junior High. My degree is in Biological Science with a specialty in human reproduction. My university education also included intensive studies the scientific fundamentals of biology, chemistry, physics, and human anthropology. As an impassioned educator with over 21 years of experience, I have a strong belief in generating the potential of my students through a student-centered classroom environment that involves several methodologies and learning techniques to accentuate each person’s true capabilities to succeed. Hi, my name’s Zuri Carranza and I’m a science teacher in junior high. I graduated from UAEH with a degree in Farming Engineering, I initially worked at SENARNAT-CONANP in the protected area of Valle de Bravo. During this time I had the chance to develop projects of environmental education helping citizens to understand taking care of the environment. This took me to discover my passion for teaching, the importance of impacting students with our example, developing in them the interest and curiosity that enables them to discover their environment, explain it and take care of it, taking informed decisions. I am passionate about caring for the environment and natural resources.
Hi, I’m Alejandra López, and I’m a math teacher in junior high. I started my teaching career
in 2011 at the University of La Salle Pachuca and became part of the ASP team in 2016 as a Math teacher
in secondary. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor´s in Science in
Electrical Engineering and I am currently taking my last semester in Mechatronics Engineering at the
University of La Salle Pachuca.
In my free time I enjoy watching foreign films, running, live music and reading. Nevertheless, my biggest
passion is inspiring youth to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Hello, my name’s Fisel Melgosa Peña and I teach math in junior high. I consider myself a prepared individual in any science subject (Math, Biology, Physics and Chemistry). I am a professional with the ability and disposition to learn, I’m enterprising, very persevering, with good interpersonal relations. I’m versatile when it comes to interacting with individuals: I have the experience of working in other educational institutions, both public and private, and I studied a BS and MA in Science. I have worked in different levels of education, basic, medium, university up to masters degree level, and I had the experience of being director during some years in an educational institution.
Hi, I’m Pat Desgrosseilliers, and I’m the Civics & Ethics teacher in junior high. I am 29 years old and a native of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I completed my university degree in psychology at the University of Victoria. I have been working in the education field for the past 3 years. I began my career as an international teacher in South Korea and spent the last year and a half in Tampico, Tamaulipas. In my spare time I enjoy keeping myself active both physically and intellectually. I enjoy hiking, playing sports, writing and reading.
Hi, my name is Thomas Corrigan. I’m the World History teacher in junior high, and the Educational Support Services Director for the whole school. I have been a Learning Support/History teacher since 1995. I graduated from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and Bridgewater University in Massachusetts where I earned teaching certification. After fifteen years teaching in the States, I decided to be an international schools teacher. I have taught in the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands, Cairo, Egypt and Mexico. I enjoy coaching baseball and basketball and am a fan of Major League Baseball.I look forward to meaningful years with the students, families and staff of ASP.
Hello, my name is Francisco Baca de la Vega, and I’m the Mexican History/ State Subject teacher in junior high. I was born and grew up in México City, but I have been living in Pachuca for 25 years: I feel at one with this city. I love literature and while there isn’t much here, the city’s peacefulness fits me like a glove. I have been teaching for 17 years, being a teacher keeps all my reflexes (cognitive and emotional) active, it is a demanding and committed adventure, but most of it fun. What I enjoy the most in my profession is meeting new students, and while it may be necessary, it’s painful to say goodbye. My great passions are literature, music, friendship and baseball. I am sure my classes are deeply influenced by these preferences.
Hello my name is Brenda García, and I’m the Computing teacher in Junior High. I have a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a Masters in Technology Education with emphasis on innovative methods for education; both are from ITESM. I am from Monterrey Nuevo León, where I was a bilingual teacher for science and computers in American schools. This will be my 3rd year as an ICT teacher in junior high. In my personal life I like to exercise, watch series and read.
Hello, I’m Jorge Alberto Hernández Guzmán, and I’m the visual arts and music teacher for junior high. I have been working here for 16 years. I have two technical degrees in computing and post-graduate studies in arts, with speciailities in music, dance, theatre and plastic arts, validated by the SEP. I have worked in computing schools and as a musician in various musical groups in the city. I am a huge fan of Earth, Wind and Fire, Santana, Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra, and Los Hermanos Castro. I like suspense novels such as those written by Dan Brown.

Hello, I’m Fátima González, the Head of Laboratory in Junior High. I studied Chemical Engineering and have had more than 15 years’ experience in labs, as well as an instructor, trainer and junior high teacher. I’ve taught chemistry, physics and math. I have started my Masters in Science at ITESM, and the speciality is in manufacture systems. I love spending time with my family, my husband and my four children, playing and having fun.
Hi, my name’s Hilda Islas Peña, and I’m lab assistant in junior high. I have a degree in Education and as a laboratory worker. I’ve been working here happily for 14 years, and during that time I have taught Biology and more recently, chemistry and physics. Studying science is my passion, and sharing it with students even more so. Working with nature is another passion, enjoying the sunsets while riding my bicycle.
Hi, I’m Ligia Castellanos, and I’m the Counselor in junior high. I worked with children with Down Syndrome for five years before I arrived to the American School in 2002, as prefect in junior high, which I did for 14 years. Now I am a Student Counselor, this allows me to know my students better. I am in charge of the Student Council, formed by students of upper primary and the three junior high grades, I am also in charge the social responsibility of the school, with campaigns to support the community. Working with teenagers is something wonderful because they inject life, energy and enthusiasm into everything but at the same time it is a challenge, one of the most complicated stages in life, but the nicest. I like to read in my free time, to listen to good music and to have a great time with my family.
Hi, my name’s Armando Zamora Carmona, I’m the psychologist in junior high, I have a degree in education from ITESM, and BA in Psychology from the UAEH. I was born in the city of Huauchinango, Puebla. But since 1999 I have lived in Pachuca. The American School of Pachuca has been my second home since the year 2007, where I have performed different functions. I enjoy reading a good book, meeting with friends and family, but my favorite hobby is playing soccer and I enjoy it more when I play with friends. I have had the chance to participate and support in sports activities of representative teams. My biggest commitment is to do an excellent job working with the students of junior high and be able to support them both academically and psychologically on their way through the institution, which is a beautiful blessing.

Hi I’m Alex Forbes, and I am a visiting student-teacher in Junior High. I come from a town called Bolton in the North of England. I am 21 years old and I am currently a Languages student at the University of Nottingham in England. I speak English, Spanish, French, German and Italian. I will be working at ASP until the end of December. I have experience as an assistant teacher of English and Physical Education in Barcelona (Spain) where I worked for one academic year. I have additional teaching experience in Toulouse (France) and Moshi (Tanzania). One of my favourite things to do is to coach football and I am a fan of Manchester United. In my free time, I enjoy playing football, volleyball, and tennis. In addition to this, my idea of relaxation on the weekends is hiking or running in the countryside.
