Junior High School Level

My name is Stephen and I'm pleased to be the Director of the Secondary School here at the American School of Pachuca. I have been a teacher and administrator in several schools in Oregon, USA and abroad, and my first impression of this school was very favorable. I foresee great progress for our students and staff.
There are many changes underway at ASP including Archieve 3000, a reading program that will assist all students at their level of proficiency. Our English-based curriculum is the California Standards Program for our core subjects, and SEP for our Spanish-based classes.
These programs, plus our hard working staff, will improve what is already a very good middle school.
Because we have a dedicated staff, motivated students and supportive parents, our school will continue to improve in all phases of the educational realm. We have a Special Needs program modeled after the American system of Individual Education Plans, smaller classrooms and more individualized attention. Our counseling program provides help for those who need it, as well as a character education (values) system. Our extra-curricular activities include in-school and after school programs such as: sports, arts, chess club, and an environmental club, focusing on recycling and composting. Our Career Education Program matches up students' interests with goals, which motivates our students and gives them reasons to do their best.
We incorporate all of Gardner's Intelligences (visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic and logical-mathematical), Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs (physiological, safety, love/belonging, esteem, and self-actualization) plus Bloom's Taxonomy (knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation/creation).
It is my pleasure to be directing our middle school as we prepare and empower our students to enter high school.
Sincerely,
Stephen Cole
Junior High School Principal
