Philosophy
The American School of Pachuca incorporates ideas from different theories of development and learning to promote an educational formation, with meaningful and democratic experiences for students, parents and teachers, but our core instructional methods are based on the concepts and techniques referred to as Active Learning and Collaborative Learning.
We believe that all children can learn and that everyone learns in different ways. We believe that educational experiences should be meaningful and take place in an environment conducive to learning.
We believe that children need to learn in and about the real world as they find it today, a world in which multiculturalism is the norm and problem solving and cooperation are key skills.
We believe that education must involve the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. As such, teachers and staff play an important role in modeling skills, attitudes, and the constant desire to learn and improve, both as individuals and as a community.
Our curriculum and practices are designed to promote our philosophies. It is our policy that teachers and students are encouraged to speak English during classes, recess and lunch.
