I really like to work with constructivism: it makes me feel like my students are really learning, I can see on their faces how much fun they have doing their activities and sharing a lot of experiences with their friends.
The purpose or this activity is to have students understand the role that each living thing has in an ecosystem, using different methods to address all learning styles.
It was a project in which students first needed to investigate what the 3 different roles were that animals have in the environment, (producers, consumers or decomposers). After that, using magazine pictures, they needed to create three different food chains and recognize each animal’s role.
Once my students got the right idea about the topic, they were told to present in a very creative way, using one of the food chains they had made before in their notebook.
